π§ Acrefine Vibration Isolation Hangers for Suspended Services
Acrefine vibration isolation hangers help reduce the transmission of vibration and structure-borne noise from suspended mechanical equipment and building services into the supporting structure. Typical applications include pipework, ductwork, fan coil units, duct-mounted fans, air handling equipment and acoustic ceiling systems.
This collection includes resilient rubber, steel-housed rubber, spring and combination hangers. The correct type depends on the supported load, disturbing frequency, required deflection and installation arrangement.
Why Use Vibration Isolation Hangers?
- Reduced vibration transmission: A resilient element interrupts the rigid path between the suspended service and the building structure.
- Options for different frequencies: Rubber elements are suited to higher-frequency vibration, while higher-deflection springs are used for lower-frequency equipment.
- Load-matched selection: Colour-coded rubber elements and springs make it easier to select the appropriate capacity for each support point.
- Purpose-built housings: Selected models use welded steel housings to support the isolation element and accommodate threaded-rod suspension systems.
π Choose the Right Isolation Hanger
1. Resilient Sound Isolation Hangers
Double-deflection rubber elements for suspended equipment, services and acoustic ceilings. The standard range provides up to 13 mm deflection, with load capacities from 25 kg to 275 kg per hanger.
2. Rubber Hanger Mounts
Double-deflection rubber isolators enclosed within a powder-coated steel housing. These provide the same broad load range as the resilient elements while offering a defined hanger body for threaded-rod installations.
3. Spring Isolation Hangers
Steel spring hangers for low-frequency vibration isolation, with a rubber washer to help control higher-frequency transmission. Standard options include 25 mm and 50 mm spring deflection, with capacities up to 820 kg per hanger.
4. Spring & Rubber Combination Hangers
Combination hangers incorporate a steel spring and a double-deflection rubber element within the same housing. They are intended for applications requiring both low-frequency spring isolation and additional resilient separation from higher-frequency vibration.
π Selecting the Correct Hanger
Selection must be based on the actual load carried by each hanger, not simply the total equipment weight. The equipment operating speed, disturbing frequency, required deflection, number and position of supports, rod alignment and available installation clearance must also be considered.
Do not mix hangers with different operating heights or deflection groups on the same equipment, strut channel or trapeze support. The supporting structure, anchors, threaded rods and associated fixings must be designed separately for the imposed loads.
