Gripple Y-Pipe Accessory | Twin Pipe Hanger on a 200 mm M8 Stud Bracket
A ready-made way to carry two pipes from one fixing point. A 200 mm bracket with an M8 stud at each end hangs on a wire rope Y that rises 185 mm to a single loop at the top. Screw a pipe clamp onto each stud, hook the loop onto whatever you are suspending from, and a twin pipe run is supported without a length of channel and without a second hole in the soffit.

You get the 200 mm stud bracket with its wire rope Y and top loop. The hanger, rod or anchor that the loop attaches to is not included, and neither are the pipe clamps that screw onto the M8 studs - both are chosen by the installer to suit the job. Pipework shown in the images is for demonstration purposes.
Why use a Y-Pipe hanger?
Two parallel pipes are normally supported one of two ways. Either each pipe gets its own drop, which means two anchors, two hangers and twice the work at height. Or they share a trapeze, which means cutting strut channel to length, deburring it, and often a hot works permit before the saw comes out.
The Y-Pipe accessory replaces both. One fixing carries the pair, the spacing is set by the bracket rather than measured on site, and the wire Y keeps the load shared evenly between the two studs. Gripple puts the saving at one anchor point and 50% less drilling.
Where is the Y-Pipe accessory used?
Anywhere pipes run in pairs: heating and chilled water flow and return, domestic hot and cold, condensate and small-bore plant connections. It suits ceiling voids, corridors, risers and plant rooms, and it is particularly useful in refurbishment, where there is little room to drill and hot works are restricted.
How to use?
- Fix the top loop to your suspension point. It will take a Gripple wire hanger, and it will equally take a threaded rod, an eye anchor or a hook - whichever the job already uses.
- Let the bracket hang free and check it sits level.
- Screw a pipe clamp onto each M8 stud, sized to the pipe it will carry.
- Seat each pipe in its clamp and tighten.
- Check both pipes for line and level before loading the run.
The studs are M8, so the pipe diameter is set by the clamp you fit rather than by the hanger itself.
